USPA NEWS - The Normandy Region will organize the 4th edition of the Normandy World Forum for Peace on June 3 and 4, 2021 at the Abbaye aux Dames in Caen. This new edition will be devoted to the theme “World peace and global security: how to govern peace? " "It will be a question of outlining avenues for reflection and action to better govern peace around two major questions: why does peace escape us? And how can we regain control of peace? » Specifies François-Xavier Priollaud, Vice-President of the Normandy Region in charge of European and international affairs. The 3rd edition, was held in 2020, postponed by few months due ti the CVOID-19 pandemic, but still happened to be a successful event, smartly organized by the Region fo Normandy, petition in place all the sanitary measures and social distanciation in Abbey des Dames, Many events were happening outdoors, and for this 2020 year, a huge concert performed by barber Hendricks, under a giant tent, and events were also combined by night outdoors...among the huge green area, of the Abbaye, enabling the thousands of visitors to enjoy the fantastic exhibition, of major "Peace famous handshakes" photos, signed by Paris Match Magazine.

PROGRAM FOR THIS 4TH EDITION OF WOLRD NORMANDY PEACE FORUM------------------------------------------------ The program for this 4th edition, unveils, two large plenary conferences and two nocturnes, one of which focuses on artists and writers on the theme of culture and education in the service of peace, in partnership with the French representation to UNESCO. There will be twenty (20) debates including four (4) dedicated to youth. A Village for Peace which will bring together in the park of the Abbaye aux Dames, an ephemeral bookstore, exhibitions, events, concerts, meetings with NGOs and associations ... Many initiatives proposed with the partners of the "Normandy for Peace" program including the National Audiovisual Institute (INA), Open Diplomacy, Le Cercle des Economistes, Leaders pour la Paix ...The Normandy for Peace index from the European Parliament's research service will also be unveiled, an index to assess threats to peace and democracy in the world. The Forum will also give pride of place to young people with highlights including four youth debates, the presentation of the Freedom Prize chosen by young people from all over the world (Freedom Prize 2020: Loujain Al Hathloul currently imprisoned in Saudi Arabia) and the European Walk program. the Global Walk this year focuses on the role of institutions in building peace and justice.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Normandy World Peace Forum is an event dedicated to peace in the world.
