USPA NEWS - “I HAVE DECIDED TO GIVE YOU PARLIAMENTARY CHOICE AGAIN” PRESIDENT MACRON STATED AS HE DISSOLVED THE FRENCH CHAMBER OF REPRWESENTATIVE
The President of the Republic Macron announced, with a serious air, the dissolution of the National Assembly during a live televised address. This announcement caused an earthquake in the political class, whatever the party, most of whom denounce the “rash” or even “unacceptable” choice of the President. In fact, the 49.5 million French voters are invited to return to the polls, on June 30 and on June 9 for a second round. This is a new and quite historic legislative election, to elect the 577 deputies of the National Assembly, who are already no longer deputies. The campaign starts tomorrow, and candidates must officially register before Sunday June 16
This dissolution, the sixth in the history of the Fifth Republic, since 1997 (dissolution carried out by President Jacques Chirac) is the consequence of the clear victory of the RN in the European elections, which, with almost 35% of the votes, occupies the majority of the current political ecosystem.
An hour after the announcement of the historic score of the National Rally in the European elections, President Macron surprised everyone by dissolving the National Assembly where its presidential majority had only been relative since 2022. "I have decided to give you back the choice of our parliamentary future by vote. I therefore dissolve the National Assembly this evening."
This announcement, from a head of state with a severe face and a very solemn tone, this Sunday, June 9, at 9:01 p.m., shifted the evening into another dimension, and caused a national shock.
This “serious, heavy” decision is the consequence of the historic score of the National Rally, whose list led by Jordan Bardella obtained 31.4% of the votes, and the great defeat of the presidential majority candidate Valerie Hayer 14.6 % (Source Ministry of the Interior), followed by Rapahel Glucksman (Public Place) with 13.8%. THE DISSOLUTION OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY IN FRANCE ART. 12

This possibility is provided for by article 12 of the French Constitution. The Head of State thus ends early the mandate of the deputies of the National Assembly. Concretely, the legislative elections of 2027 are brought forward to 2024.
Only the President of the Republic can dissolve the National Assembly. This dissolution is a legislative weapon designed to allow the President of the Republic to get France out of an institutional crisis, for example during an incompatibility between the presidential majority and the parliamentary majority. It can also serve as a disguised referendum, to check voters' confidence in it.
Early legislative elections must be organized in the form of a two-round majority vote. The vote must take place between 20 and 40 days after the declaration of the dissolution of the National Assembly – or, in this case, between June 29 and July 19, 2024. The first round is expected on Sunday June 30, and the second, July 7.

PRESIDEN MACRON PULLED A RISKY TRIGGER BY DISSOLVNG THE FRENCH PARLIAMENT
A great wave of panic has spread within the political world of all parties because the election is presented in a very rapid and brutal manner, with an express campaign of only 3 weeks, at the end of June beginning of July, coinciding with the dates going on vacation...Not to mention the proximity of this electoral period, and the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
the current government of Prime Minister Gabriel Attal is on "stand by" during this period, meaning that the minimum will be carried out by the executive while the reforms in progress and where the laws discussed in parliament risk disappearing or being resumed in July after the election of new deputies.
As for major sensitive foreign policy issues, managed by the presidency, such as the war in Ukraine and the recent announcement by the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron to send Mirage 2000s to Ukraine, the ceasefire in Gaza, the instability (pre-civil war) in New Caledonia, the protests on the island of Mayotte (Comoros Islands), the afittaion in the Indo-Pacific, the anger of farmers on the French-Spanish border....must nevertheless be managed by the head of state despite this great political storm...
