Rajoy and Schulz deal on combating terrorism and Juncker Plan

USPA NEWS - The Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, received Thursday at the Moncloa Palace, the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz, as part of his two-day visit to Spain, which also will be received in hearing by King Philip VI.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed together some of the issues of greatest interest to Spain within the European Union, for which the European Parliament has an important role to play in its role as legislator, and most notably the impetus for the adoption of a directive to create a system of passenger name record (PNR) that allows combat terrorism and other serious crimes, or the adoption of the Regulation establishing the European Fund for Strategic Investments (FEIE) component principal known as "Juncker Plan" for the mobilization of public-private investment and whose legislative proposal submitted by the Commission on 13 January.
The vision of the European Parliament on the framework of the Energy Union submitted by the European Commission last February 25, in particular the chapter on electricity and gas interconnections, or the progress of negotiations between the EU and the US for the conclusion, at the end of the year, the agreement for the establishment of a transatlantic trade and investment partnership between the two major trading blocs (TTIP) have been other issues that have been addressed during the meeting.
Finally, the Prime Minister and President of the European Parliament have reviewed the economic and employment situation in the EU and the euro area as well as the vision of the European Parliament on the situation in Greece and the operation thereof in the last months after its renewed political composition emerged from the European Parliament elections last May 25, 2014. They have also discussed some issues on the international scene, as the situation in Ukraine and Libya, and the fight against international terrorism.
