French and Portuguese policemen are integrated into Spanish police patrols

To reinforce tourist attention

USPA NEWS - Agents of the Spanish National Police, the Police Nationale French and Portuguese Public Segurança work together to strengthen care in points tourist attractions in Spain. Officials Spanish National Police will travel to various Portuguese and French police stations to serve the Spanish tourist.
Within the project 'European police stations', protected by the Treaty of Prüm, three french effective security forces patrol with Spanish agents in areas of high tourist influx of Madrid and two other policemen PSP Portugal travel to the station Torremolinos-Benalmádena to cater for Portuguese students who will move to that location for educational trip. As in previous years and during the summer holidays, agents of the French and Portuguese police, uniformed and its regulatory arms, collaborate on public safety devices in Spain in order to offer the French and Portuguese tourist comprehensive care and its native language.
The three french agents displaced to Spain are Spanish speaking and serving from March 27 to April 6 at the police station in downtown Madrid. Their functions range from patrols on foot or by vehicle to care for victims of crime, crime prevention or support the formalization of complaints. Meanwhile, the two officers of the Public Segurança Portuguese traveled to Spain in police uniform and vehicle from March 20 until March 30 to attend the Portuguese students moving to Torremolinos and Benalmadena in occasion of the educational trips.
The target is to be near the tourist to offer comprehensive care in the area of public safety officers who speak their native language and know their own legal procedures of both countries. Therefore they are walking areas with special influx of tourists. Joint patrols are a step in the collaboration and international police cooperation, promote the improvement of citizen services and help consolidate the concept of border security.
The Spanish National Police participated since 2008 in the 'European police stations' initiative, which are also involved officers from other European countries like Italy, Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. This time, four members of the Spanish National Police will be transferred to the police stations in Lisbon and Braga from April 1st to 6th of the same month and about 20 reinforce the assistance to Spanish tourists in different French cities like Carcassonne, Nimes, Versailles, Avignon, and Marseille, among others, and also serve in the amusement park of Disneyland Paris intermittently from April until end of year.
