Spain and Russia sign an agreement on cooperation in infrastructure of transport

USPA NEWS - The Spanish government has signed with Russia an agreement on cooperation in transport and transport infrastructure. The objective of this agreement is to strengthen and promote multilateral cooperation, contributing to the expansion and strengthening of bilateral relations in these areas.
The cooperation may be carried out by the departments themselves and public companies integrated in them. In this sense, they will focus on air, rail, road and maritime transport; planning, development and operation of airport infrastructure, air navigation, roads, railways and ports; study investment projects and permanent exchange of information on them; the modernization of transport infrastructure of the Russian Federation and the Kingdom of Spain with the participation of transport companies and service providers; ecologically sustainable development of infrastructure and transportation, and training and staff development in the transport sector.
The agreement also includes the application of intelligent transport systems and information technology infrastructures and means of transport; the development of transport corridors and international logistics, among others. The Spanish Minister of Development, Ana Pastor, received the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Oleg Belozerov, during the VIII Joint Spanish-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Industrial Cooperation taking place in Madrid between 15 and 16 June.
At this meeting, Pastor and Belozerov addressed other issues of interest in the field of infrastructure and transport. Thus, with respect to the railway cooperation, the Spanish minister was interested in the plans of the Russian government regarding future new high speed after the start of construction of the Moscow-Kazan and expressed the interest of Spanish companies as Renfe and Adif in the development of high speed in Russia within the framework of cooperation agreements signed with the Russians, railways RZD, and the University of Railway Engineering Moscow.
Spanish Minister of Development discussed the plans of the Russian Ministry of Transport regarding the road network and new highways are being built for the World Championships Football 2018, to be held in Russia. As passenger traffic air transport, Pastor welcomed the evolution of passenger air transport market Spain-Russia, which shows an increasing trend in recent years.
