USPA NEWS - The Spanish government on Friday raised to Level 4 of 5 terrorist alert in the country after the attacks in France, Tunisia and Kuwait -against one Spaniard hotel-, and the proximity of the first anniversary of the Islamic State.
Spain was at Level 3 risk terror alert. However, after the attacks on Friday and because it will be a year of self-proclamation of the Islamic State, who is supposed behind the attacks against a gas company in France, a Spanish hotel in Tunisia and a Mosque in Kuwait, the Government, according to the Socialist Party and other opposition political forces, has raised the alert level to 4 of 5.
According to Spanish Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz, the Government is not aware by now that the victims of the attack on the Spanish hotel chain Riu, headquartered in Palma de Mallorca, in Tunisia has Spanish citizens. From Brussels, where he was participating in the European Council, the Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, moved his condolences and those of the Spanish people to the French and Tunisian authorities. "Moving my condolences, my solidarity and that of all Spaniards with France and Tunisia. They have transmitted to the French president before he left the summit and have talked with the ambassador of Spain in Tunisia," Rajoy said.
Raising the alert level means the presence on the streets of riot police forces and, in some places, military forces. The National Intelligence Centre (CNI in its Spanish acronym) investigates the identity of the terrorists if they had any relationship with Spain. In addition, security of the embassies of Spain and Spanish companies abroad will increase.
