The Planetworkshops encourage intellectual innovation in order to question societies and develop practical solutions to social, environmental, cultural and economic issues. The purpose of the Planetworkshops is to challenge the life of ideas, encourage intellectual innovation and produce expertise to accompany the long term vision of decision makers. Definitely turned towards action, the Planetworkshops also focus on the development of successful and useful experiences and spread good practices in order to favor necessary changes towards sustainable models. The Planetworkshops gather politicians, scientists, experts, economists, medias and NGOs in order to guide decision making towards sustainable development and rebuild new societal models.---------------------------------------------------------------------- THE PLANETWORKHOPS DEFINE THEMSELVES BY THEIR MOTTO AS: “˜An international and independent think tank on sustainable development issues; an interactive platform dedicated to the exchange of ideas, experiences and best practices gathering key decision makers in order to implement a sustainable agenda in business and society“.-------------------- THE TWO FOUNDERS OF “THE PLANETWORKSHOPS“ ARE FRENCH AND AMERICAN-------------------------------- Eric Bazin is a French journalist and founder of Satelight, a consulting and photographic production company. A RICH PROGRAM AROUND “ALL ACTORS OF RUPTURE“----------------------------------------------------------------------- The main topic chose by the Steering Committee of The Planetworkshops for the Xth edition of the Global Conference is: “ALL ACORS OF RUPTURE“. The rupture aims to be positive. It entails adaptability, renewal and solutions. New initiatives are being invented at the scale of territories, in line with a multiplication of creativity in favour of the collective. The existing advances have left traces, but have not crossed yet the variety of possibilities. Facing the acceleration of environmental issues, it is necessary, while focusing on the initiatives that are actually serving a sustainable future, to build on the testimony of those who dared to take the leap. Abandonment of a total dependence on fossil fuels, inventive business models, fair fiscal projects, innovative agricultural productions, renewed financial products, many people have taken up the challenge of a more balanced global economy, more respectful of mankind and its environment, and integrating the demographic issues. However, the impact of risk-taking is too often hampered by short-term political, economic and financial measures, lacking global visions, and serving particular interests, despite a better use of the concept of governance in development policies promoting participatory democracy. Thus, it is necessary to understand why the good practices, which people know are existing, are not adapted more globally. During this Xth edition, the debates will be structured around three major themes, highlighting possible actions. We will first consider "The resources we are using", which depend on our rapidity to implement good practices; then we will focus on "The models we are building", which are closely linked with our capacity to created theoretical concepts and we will finally approach "The world we are shaping", which will reflect our ability to change our lifestyles. During three days, the Global Conference will give a voice to those who dared to take the risk, and who succeeded, and will bring tools likely to change the way our society is working, in order to multiply this virtuous initiatives and to make us all actors of rupture.
