USPA NEWS - Emmanuel Macron, Minister of Economy, Industry &Digital presents the route of international tourist areas (ZTI) in Paris, a month after the promulgation of the law for growth, activity and equal opportunities. The law was definitively voted on July 10, after 400 hours of debate at Senate & Chamber.

THE CREATION OF ZTI INTERNATIONAL TOURISTIC ZONES IN PARIS TO BETTER WELCOME THE VISITORS The creation of international tourist areas adapts shop opening conditions on Sundays and evenings in Paris to reality in tourism in the capital. World tourist city with more than 29 million visitors each year, Paris is not yet the 9th average basket per tourist in purchasing term compared to other world capitals. The creation of ZTI and reinforces the attractiveness of Paris, to develop the economic potential of businesses and create jobs.-------------------------------------------------------------------------- The contours of the ZTI were decided after a consultation launched on August 15 at the Paris city hall, trade unions and trade associations. OPENINGS TO BE DEFINED IN CONSULTATION WITH EMPLOYEES CREATION OF AN OBSERVATORY OF SUNDAY TRADING------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Minister also announced the creation of an Observatory of Sunday trading. This Observatory will assess the reform of the opening of shops on Sundays in Paris to follow the international promotion, to measure the impact in terms of job creation, the effects on trade and activity including proximity and possible resulting costs for the city. It should bring together the prefect and the mayor of Paris, the district mayors, consular agencies and trade associations. These agreements must necessarily provide for compensation related to Sunday work, in any case an equivalent rest and counterparts implemented by the employer to offset the costs caused by child care.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Companies wishing to open on Sundays and evening as part of the ZTI will conduct a dialogue with employees as part of a sectoral agreement, group, territory or business. In companies with fewer than 11 employees, the entrepreneur will need to collect the majority agreement of its employees. Employees working in the evening beyond 21h must be paid double the employer will have to bear the return shipping costs to their home.
