Spanish Armed Forces deployed the largest number of operations in its history

USPA NEWS - The Spanish Armed Forces are participating today in twenty different military operations, which is the major effort made by the Spanish military in history to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Organic Law of National Defense.
In addition to the 12,000 soldiers who are conducting operations in national territory, more than 2,300 men and women in various missions abroad. Of these 63% belong to the Army, 23% to Navy and 10% the Air Force, 3% of the Common Corps of Defense and 1% to the Civil Guard. Operations Command (MOPS) makes driving in Spain and monitoring and support of military efforts carried out in eleven countries on three continents (Cape Verde, Senegal, Lebanon, Bosnia Herzegovina, Somalia, Djibouti, Mali, Republic Central African Republic, Gabon, Iraq and Afghanistan) and four sea areas (North Sea, Gulf of Guinea, Mediterranean and Indian).
In addition to those carried out abroad, include those which, on a permanent basis every day of the year, the Spanish Armed Forces made to protect national spaces, air, land, maritime and cyber interest. Also it included operations in support of the Security Forces of the State and those made to preserve the safety and welfare of citizens in disaster.
The Spanish troops carry out their missions under UN (UNIFIL), European Union (Althea, Atalanta, EUTM Somalia, EUCAP Nestor, EUMAM RCA, EUTM Mali, Sophie EUNAVFOR), NATO (Resolute Support, Active Endeavour, Operations of permanent naval forces of NATO) coalition (Inherent Resolve), with France and bilateral military cooperation with Senegal, Cape Verde and Guinea Gulf countries, in addition to national security and surveillance operations (in the fields maritime, defense and air operations, and cyber defense) and acting in emergencies.
These missions contribute significantly to international and internal security of the countries in which it is deployed, and cooperation in improving its military capabilities, according to the Spanish Ministry of Defense, through the activities of training and counseling, presence and interposition, or fight against terrorism and illegal trafficking. For the performance of its work, the Spanish military have more than 200 vehicles and ground equipment of all kinds; an amphibious ship, 3 frigates, 4 seagoing share, minesweepers and a submarine; and 2 transport aircraft plus 3 maritime surveillance aircraft.
