The Secretary of State for European Affairs, Harlem Désir, also General Secretary for Franco-German Cooperation, travels with his German counterpart, Michael Roth, Strasbourg and Kehl this Saturday, October 31, 2015. “In continuation of Metz conference they organised on 6 and 7 July 2015, Messrs. Roth desire and will highlight the vitality of the French-German border cooperation, by traveling to the town of Kehl in Germany, with Mr Peter Friedrich, Minister for European Affairs of Baden-Württemberg. They board the French-German EUROPA 1 firefighter boat, operating on the Strasbourg-Kehl area, as example of cross-border cooperation in the field of civil protection unrivalled in Europe. The ministers also visited the Franco-German center for vocational training within the steel company of "Badische Stahlwerke", home for many years a growing number of French apprentices to mark the importance they attach to the integration of our markets work and exchanges in vocational training and youth mobility between France and Germany. At the invitation of his German counterpart, the Secretary of State will also participate in the celebrations organised by Germany for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.
