G6 and US agree to continue sharing intelligence against the terrorism of DAESH

USPA NEWS - The Spanish Minister of Interior, Jorge Fernandez Diaz, participated Thursday in the meeting of the G6 ministers of Interior of United Kingdom, Spain, France, Italy, Poland and Germany, held in London.
The meeting was also attended by the European Commissioner for Migration Affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos; US Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and US Secretary of Homeland Security, Jeh Johnson. At the meeting, the G6 ministers of Interior discussed the fight against jihadist terrorism, arms trafficking, trafficking in human beings, security and data protection as well as illegal immigration and asylum.
The Spanish Minister of Interior, Jorge Fernandez Diaz, stressed the importance of the joint political declaration signed by G6 ministers in the US and referred mainly to the fight against terrorism DAESH, and which reiterated the firm commitment to continue sharing intelligence and information together to be more effective in combating terrorism DAESH.
The joint statement includes a document in which it influences try to avoid any kind of Islamophobia in the fight against jihadist terrorism and especially in the fight in the field of Internet and social networks against radicalization. In this sense, Jorge Fernandez Diaz told his European partners in recent police operations in Spain against jihadist terrorism so far now total 100 detainees in 2015 and a total of 175 throughout the Legislature. The Spanish minister said that following the agreement reached between the Council and the European Parliament on the Directive on Passenger Name Records (PNR), Spain considers that the top priority must now go through to a coherent and systematic use of SIS II (Schengen Information System) to effectively monitor the movement of suspected terrorists, and exchange criminal records of people linked to terrorism as well as serious and organized crime.
The Spanish Minister of Interior said that the attacks in Paris last November 13 have revealed the serious loss of life that can inflict the illicit firearms in the hands of terrorists. Therefore, according to Fernandez Diaz, "we must act quickly and decisively to reduce the risk of being attacked, preventing criminals access to firearms and high-powered automatic weapons. He noted that "it is clear that there is an urgent need for the Member States of the European Union to work together to improve the response at the political level with the threat of firearms that affects us all." The minister explained that, in this case, "we must exercise extreme our regulations, increase the exchange of information and intelligence and promote more effective operational cooperation between enforcement agencies of the law, as we asked at the extraordinary meeting of the European Council Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) held on November 20 in Brussels."
