The Catalan independence furniture saved at the last minute

Agreement between JxS and CUP

USPA NEWS - "That we were not given the polls directly, it had to be corrected later with the negotiation." The sentence, pronounced by the president of the regional Government of Catalonia, Artur Mas, defines the reality of Catalan independence process.
A process designed to suit a bourgeois nationalist minority, around the party Democratic Convergence of Catalonia (CDC) led with an iron fist for years by the former president of the regional Government of Catalonia, Jordi Pujol. A right-wing party, according to the terminology used in European policy, friend of capitalism, Catholic and nationalist, manipulator of history to serve their interests and that, at present, has its headquarters foreclosed, former President Jordi Pujol trial for corruption and Artur Mas in the spotlight of Justice.
CDC has managed to channel the independence aspirations of other parties such as the Republican Left of Catalonia and even the anti-capitalist of the CUP, to establish itself as a leader of the process for independence. The change has not been welcomed by the electorate, since CDC has been losing popular support for twenty years. The latest example of that loss of votes were regional elections September 27, 2015, raised by nationalists as a plebiscite on independence, but were simply regional elections.
In these elections, CDC, allied with the Republican Left of Catalonia and other organizations of the extreme left, did not get an absolute majority he needed to fulfill his promise to unilaterally declare independence of Catalonia within a maximum period of 18 months. To do this, they need the support of 10 deputies of the CUP. Finally, he has the support of six, the minimum necessary to achieve absolute parliamentary majority to form a Government. The stability of the new government will be the two of the ten members of the CUP, which will join the parliamentary structure of the nationalist-republican coalition Together for the Yes (JxS its acronym in Catalan).
To reach this point, the Catalan independence movement has distorted history and has been used in accordance with their interests, creating a climate of opinion in Catalonia to the contrary Spain on the grounds that Spain steals Catalonia money, wealth and rights. The Catalan independence ignores contrary to the independence and separates those who do not think alike. "Some members of the CUP will have to be replaced," said Artur Mas Saturday. That is, turn away those who do not support the Government of JxS and will be replaced by allied MPs. Everything, to pave the way towards independence.
A goal that clashes with the Spanish State. But Spain is experiencing a period of political uncertainty following the elections on December 20. And in politics, uncertainty is weak. Catalan independence could not risk new elections with uncertain results and, moreover, should seize the moment of institutional weakness that runs through Spain. The agreement reached on Saturday between JxS and the CUP was the logical result, many in Catalonia but now wonder why they have taken three months to reach the agreement and why they waited until the last minute to announce.
