USPA NEWS - "I have decided to deploy 1,600 extra police and gendarmes in different parts of the territory" - the Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said, after the emergency meeting on the Brussels events, this morning at the Elysee. A double blast occurred in the Zaventem airport and Maelbeek metro.

A double blast occurred about 8 am in the big departures hall of Zaventem airport. At 9 h 11, another took place near metro called “Maelbeek“ Parliament. The "disaster plan" was launched. Traffic blocked in the Belgian capital for all public transport were stopes. The toll was heavy, with 34 dead and numerous seriously wounded. The Belgian parquet confirmed it is a terrorrist act. The Belgian TV (RTBF) specifies that a firearm "kalachnikof" was found in the odds of a presumed assailant in Maleenbeck metro station. The European district, which is nearby to the Metro station was also blocked. AN EMERGENCY MEETING HELD IN ELYSEE PALACE JUST AFTER THE ATTACKS IN BELGIUM Further to the three suicide explosions that occurred this morning in Brussels, the French government promptly reacted by shoving the agenda and insert an emergency meeting at the Elysee this morning. The minister of Interior Bernard Cazeneuve, Jean-Marc Ayrault, Foreign Minister and Jean Yves Le Drian, Defense Minister alongside Manuel Valls, Prime Minister and Francois Hollande, President of the Republic held this ad hoc emergency meeting. TODAY´S AGENDA OF INTERIOR MINISTER SCHEDULED A FORUM FOR DIALOGUE BETWEEN MUSLIM AND FRENCH GOVERNMENT ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Further the the first meeting of a kind, held on 15 June 2015, the forum for dialogue between Muslim and French governments was again held today on March 21, 2016. It is a coincidence of agenda, in these sad and tragic circumstances in Brussels, and just after 4 days, of the arrest of Salah Abdelslam. This meeting is a continuation of local consultations organized by the prefectures, which allowed to hear thousands of Muslim French. If the first edition of the round tables on various subjects chosen by the participants were organized this second instance was centered on the phenomenon of radicalization. In his closing speech, the Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve welcomed the "commitment will that truly animates the Muslims of France" and assured them of the support of the Republic.---------------------------------------------------- YESTERDAY “˜ S AGENDA OF FRENCH MINISTERS HOSTED A SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING ----------------------- Prime Minister Manuel Valls, ministers Bernard Cazeneuve (Indoor), Jean-Yves Le Drian (Defence), Jean-Jacques Urvoas (Justice), Jean-Marc Ayrault (Foreign Affairs) and the Chief of Staff of the Armed Peter de Villiers, and leaders of the main french security services, were invited to this meeting to "review the operations" that led to the arrest of Salah Abdeslam, a key suspect in the bombings in November in Paris, and several of his accomplices.
