Foreign Ministers Ayrault and Steinmeier met in Lybia

USPA NEWS - Jean-Marc Ayrault, French Minister of Foreign Affairs & International Development, and Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, visited Tripoli April 16, 2016. They met with Mr. Fayyez Sarraj, PM of Libya, and with members of Presidential council.

ean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of the French Republic, and Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Foreign Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, visited Tripoli April 16, 2016. They met with Mr. Fayyez Sarraj, Prime Minister of Libya, and with members of the Presidential Council.-------------------------------------------------------- The German and French ministers have praised the courage and determination of the Libyan prime minister and members of the Presidential Council. Their arrival in Tripoli was a major step towards the establishment of a government representing all parts of Libya. Libyan Prime Minister and members of the Presidential Council were custodians expectations of the Libyan people, who wanted peace, unity, prosperity and fulfillment of democratic promises of the Revolution of February 17.--------- Ministers encouraged the Prime Minister to Libya and members of the Presidential Council to quickly play their rightful role of right at the head of all government institutions and civil security forces and military to Libya to meet the many expectations of the Libyan people. Ministers expressed full support of Germany and France to Libya. They affirmed the determination of their governments to give their full support to the Government of National Unity to help restore security, fight against terrorism and to deliver public services that benefit all Libyans.---------------------------------------------------------- The Ministers called on all Libyan parties and political leaders, economic and security act with responsibility in this decisive moment for the future of their country, facilitating an immediate and peaceful transfer of power and providing full support to the Government of national unity. They welcomed the commitment of the Presidency of the House of Representatives to organize without delay a vote of confidence in the Government of National Unity as a whole, as required by inter-Libyan political agreement. They urged the House of Representatives, the State Council and all Libyan institutions to fully implement the inter-Libyan political agreement, which was the only way out of the political and security crisis in Libya. Germany and France were with the Government of National Unity in Tripoli and were anxious to reopen their embassies there, as soon as security conditions permit.
