Landslide kills 9 road construction workers in SW China

USPA News - At least nine people were killed late Monday when a landslide buried a group of construction workers at a road damaged by a previous landslide in southwest China, state-run media reported on Tuesday. Two other people remain missing and are feared dead.
The incident occurred at around 10:42 p.m. local time on Monday when construction workers were in the progress of repairing a road in the township of Qinggangpo in Sinan County, which is located in Guizhou Province. The road had been damaged by another landslide on Sunday evening. County officials told the state-run Xinhua news agency on Tuesday that at least nine workers were killed while two others were injured, although their conditions were not immediately known. Two additional workers are missing and feared to have been killed by the large landslide, which also buried several construction vehicles at the site. Xinhua said excavators were deployed by local authorities and a search-and-rescue operation is continuing.
