8 killed after passenger bus plunges down gorge in Mexico

USPA News - At least eight people have been killed after a passenger bus fell down a gorge in north-central Mexico, local authorities said Sunday. The accident occurred early Sunday morning at around 4:25 a.m. local time on the Mexico-Laredo federal highway near Ciudad Valles, located in the state of San Luis Potosi, when the driver of the bus apparently lost control and plunged around 30 meters down the gorge.
Local police confirmed the death toll of eight, although the number of death could further increase. Among the dead were three men and five women. The exact number of injured was not immediately known, but emergency teams transferred them to the General Hospital of Ciudad Valles. According to police, the bus was traveling from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon and was heading toward Huejutla, Hidalgo when it lost control on the kilometer 20 marker in the Mante Lagoon area. Passengers said the driver was changing the bus` music when he lost control, but police are still searching for him.
